Hometrica Consulting was founded on April 2004 by Nicola D'Apuzzo (Ph.D.) in Switzerland. It is an independent consulting firm based on over 20 years experience of Dr. Nicola D'Apuzzo in the fields of 3D/4D body scanning, 3D scan data processing, human body measurements, digital photogrammetry and machine vision.
Technical consulting is the company's main activity. It provides advice and expert assistance on wide ranging issues in the field of human body measurement and 3D/4D surface digitization, associated with project planning/development, equipment purchase and technology information.
At our disposal, we have our established extensive network of over 12,000 contacts with manufacturers, suppliers, institutions, developers, researchers, users.
Hometrica Consulting organizes the series of 3DBODY.TECH Conference & Expo, the premier multidisciplinary international conference and exhibition on 3D human body scanning and processing technologies.
Hometrica Consulting is listed in the commercial register of Canton Ticino, Swiss identification number CHE-111.980.255.
Nicola D'Apuzzo, Ph.D., MSc.ETH
Nicola D'Apuzzo received his Master's Degree in 1996 in mechanical engineering (Dipl. Masch.-Ing. ETH) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) in the field of robotics and biomedical engineering. He then worked as researcher at the Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry of ETH Zurich and he received his Ph.D. degree (Dr. sc. techn.) in 2003 in the field of 4D human body and face scanning.
He is highly specialized in 3D/4D surface digitization and machine vision techniques, particularly in applications for human body measurements. He has 18 years of experience in technology consulting and more than 15 years of experience in research and development, in private firms and educational institutions, on 3D/4D surface digitization techniques, 3D data processing, motion tracking and machine vision.
He speaks and writes fluently in English, Italian, German, French and has good Spanish knowledge.
